CSO Appoints New Executive Director, Courtney Huffman

COLUMBUS, GA, June 27, 2022 - The Columbus Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is thrilled to announce the appointment of their new Executive Director, Courtney Huffman. The selection was made after a nationwide search and selection process completed by the CSO’s Board of Directors.

Maestro George Del Gobbo comments, “The executive leadership of a performing arts organization is a vital part of the heart and soul of that organization. The Columbus Symphony Orchestra is delighted to announce that Courtney Huffman has undertaken the position of Executive Director. We are eager to introduce her to the community and know that she will brilliantly sustain the legacy and promote the future of our city's oldest arts organization. Welcome, Courtney!”

Originally born in Marietta, Huffman will be returning to her home state of Georgia. “I am so honored to have been selected to lead the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and thrilled to be joining this vibrant community,” says Huffman. Huffman brings over eight years of experience in arts leadership, specifically in the orchestral and choral arts world. She comes to the CSO as the former Executive Director of The Arts Hub in Colorado and has previously worked with the Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Pro Musica Colorado Chamber Orchestra in Boulder, St. Martin’s Chamber Choir, the Longmont Symphony, and Seicento Baroque Ensemble in Boulder. Huffman holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and master’s degree in organizational leadership providing her a unique perspective into the structural and human needs of each organization. She specializes in helping to create strategy and structure that allows organizations to grow and expand their impact.

The Columbus Symphony Orchestra, formed in 1855, is the second orchestra founded in the nation and the first founded in Georgia.
