Ryan Dresen, Horn
Horn-player Ryan Dresen originally comes from the beautiful state of Montana. Described as “particularly characterful” (New York Classical Review), he strives to make every performance as engaging as possible. He is a current fellow with Carnegie Hall’s Ensemble Connect and a member of The Chamber Orchestra of New York. He earned a master’s degree from the Schwob School of Music at Georgia’s Columbus State University, where he studied with Dr. Anne-Marie Cherry. While living in the South, he won positions in the Columbus (Georgia) Symphony, and the Albany (Georgia) Symphony. Ryan is a founding member of The Callaway Chamber Players, which is on the faculty at La Festival Musical de Antioquia in Medellín, Colombia.
He completed his bachelor’s degree in horn performance at Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington. While he was enrolled, he won his first professional job, as assistant principal horn in the Spokane Symphony.
As a soloist, Ryan has appeared with the Spokane Symphony, Whitworth Symphony Orchestra, and Blue Morpho Orchestra. When he’s not playing the horn, he enjoys spending time outside, making delicious coffee, and traveling as much as possible.
